What's Culture? Are you so deeply involved in that "CULTURE" that you really arent't changing it? More like JUST EXISTING in it!
Romans 12: 1-2,4-6 MSG "Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that your fit into it without even thinking. Instead fix your attention on God. you'll be changed from the INSIDE OUT. Readily recognize what HE wants from you and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you always dragging you down to its level of immaturity. God brings the best out of you, develops well formed MATURITY in you!
So what's CULTURE? You do know its much more that your ETHNIC BACKGROUND you belong to or what's in your DNA!
As define, CULTURE is the quality in a person or society that arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent in arts, letters, manners, scholarly pursuits, etc.' or particular form or stage of civilization as that of a certain nation or period"-source-dictionary.com
I love the idea that being excellent has something to do with the ARTS! I'm a patron of the the arts! & NO i'm not talking about DRINKING patron! That's tequilia, I'm supporting artists! TRUE, UNIQUE ONES!
Culture is much more than what may seem obvious, it is our complete environment that we invade daily which could be home, school, work, church, greek structure, politices, wellness, etc. Wherever HE places YOU, IT's YOUR JOB!! To TRANSFORM IT FOR HIS GLORLY!! NOT YOURS , YOU ARE NOT GOD!! HE RUNS THE SHOW! HE JUST WANTS TO SET YOUR ON FIRE!!! TO GO OUT AND CARRY THE MESSAGE FOR HIS KINGDOM!
Let's now FOCUS ON.. " Don't be so well-adjusted that you fit into culture" Ask yourself? Go AHEAD, I'll wait..... How have you adjusted to fit certain cultures surrounding you? Indeed you can fit in with any type of culture you're familar with but no need to assimilate and lose you! We are all pieces of the puzzles of the picture called life. But we don't need to BLEND & Become a SMEARED PICTURE to PLEASE PEOPLE! Your JOB is to please GOD NOT PEOPLE!! EVEN FAMILY MEMBERS! SO WHAT THEY THINK YOU'RE CRAZY!! I RATHER PLEASE GOD THEN BE REJECTED BY PEOPLE! Didn't CHRIST COME TO DIE FOR OUR CRAZY BEHINDS!! SO I'm always COVERED!! WHY CUZ I GOT THAT FIRE!! I GOT THAT BLOOD.. TRUE BLOOD COVERING ME.. NOTHING EDWARD OR BELLA, OR SHOWTIME.. GAVE ME.. BUt MY TRUE SAVIOR!! SO you CAN KEEP GOING TO THE LEFT AND GET IRREPLACED.. OR GO RIGHT!! BE A RIDER FOR CHRIST!!
RIDE OR DIE FOOLS RIDE OR DIE!!! There's only one WAY!! IT's TIGHT BUT RIGHT!! NARROW, THen WIDE!! START DROPPING THAT WEIGHT!! GET HOT FOR CHRIST!! So don't lose the aspect of you that makes your UNIQUE!! In our christian life we get so focused on the UNSAVED CULTURE that we START foucsing LESS on thos that FORGOT the BASICS and CALL THEMSELVES " SAVED, SANTIFIED & FILLED WITh A burning FIRE!" So remember the daily culture that we are all connected too. Have you just found yourself "BELONGING FOR APPROVAL, ACCEPTANCE and NOT TAKING A STAND to keep up with the SAINTS or the HOMIES..
So I leave you with this ROmans 12: 4-6 MSG So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in CHrist's body lets just go ahead and BE WHat WE WERE made TO be, WITH OUT eNVIOUSLY OR PRIDFULLY COMPARING OURSELVES WITH EACH OTHER OR TRYING TO BE SOMETHING WE AREN'T. THINK ABOUT IT! ARE WE SO CAUGHT UP IN THE CULTURE AROUND US THAT WE ARE LOOSING "OURSELVES" THE SALT THAT GIVES THE DISH SOME EXTRA FLAVOR. WE KNOW SCRIPTURE REFERS TO BEING THE LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD. bUT EVEN THE "SAVED" CULTURE CAN BE DARK! & NEEDS EVEN XRAY VISION GOGGLES TO EXPOSE OR BRIGHTEN UP THE ATMOSPHERE. SO ITS NOT ABOUT HOW HOLY YOU THINK SOMEONE IS OR ISN'T. gOD CALLED US TO "BE HOLY" BECAUSE HE IS HOLY. OUR RACE IS NOT FIGHTING FOR STATUS! SO STOP BEING JEALOUS OF OTHER PEOPLE'S GIFTINGS!! DON'T HATE WHAT GOD DIDN'T GIVE YOU!! CULIVATE YOUR GIFT! GOD MADE EACH OF US UNIQUE, IF HE NEEDED DUPLICATIONS OF ADAM &EVE HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT. SO IMPACT THE CULTURE DON'T JUST BECOME A MELTING POT THAT SITS TO LONG AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT YOU CAN'T MAKE OUT WHAT YOU MADE. TAKE WHO YOU ARE AND BRING IT TO THE WORLD, AFFECTING EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE. SO STOP WATCHING REALITY AND LIVE YOUR OWN LIFE!!
